September
I can't believe that it is already September. At the beginning of summer break, I wondered how the kids would get along all summer and was nervous that we wouldn't find enough to keep us busy. Psshaw! Now, with less than a week until crazy school schedule, I want to relish each minute with them even more! Tonight, we have "Meet the Teacher" and the school picnic for L. Next week, I'll bring J to a new preschool. Even A will get to take a little preschool class this year. Transitions for everyone, I guess.
I have really enjoyed this summer. It's been the easiest one for me since I've had all three kids. No stroller, no diapers, no following kids around the park fearing that they'd fall off something. I love to just hang out with the kids. Even if they don't want to play with me as much, (that makes me sad) I like to watch them when they don't know I'm watching.

My parents just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this past Sunday. We had a party for them and also had family pictures taken. It was a fun time to be had by all! I can't wait to throw another party on their 50th! It's nice to see that my parents still have fun together after all these years.Thursday, August 06, 2009
6 Friends Every Mom Needs
I read this article in Parenting magazine this month. It made me smile, laugh, nod my head, and thank God for great, supportive friends in my life. Check it out! Oh, and if you are reading this, you are probably one of those awesome friends in the six catagories in MY life. Thanks for being there for me!

Girls, Girls, Girls
It makes me laugh to see how small this picture is! (Of course, I can't figure out how to change the size without being blurry. ) Anyway, this is a group shot from my Girl's Weekend just over a week ago. Get closer and squint.....haven't we all aged well? We meet once a year and this time, we actually went out and partied into the night! It was so much fun! I love them all and can't wait for next year!Seeing your friends is a great way to re-charge your batteries.

I sent my little girl to camp today..........
Girl Scout camp. L got out of the truck this afternoon to embark on her first overnight experience with friends and even some strangers. She briefly had a sad look on her face because it truly sunk in that I wouldn't really be with her for the next two days (except a potluck tomorrow night at camp). At the very same moment, it sunk in for me that she is growing up and that she has come so far in the bravery department. I miss L, but I'm so proud of her and excited that she is doing this.

Count your blessings
This just happened yesterday down in Iowa about 20 miles east of where I'm from. I guess it makes you remember that you should enjoy every day because you don't know when something unexpected can happen in your life that will turn it all upside down. I didn't know this man, but I have been thinking a lot about him and his family. Please do the same.
